Gateway
The Gateway Club held at Glebe House, Forest Road, Loughborough, is a social club for people with learning difficulties. Many of out members are involved as volunteers with this club. It has been in existence for over forty years and consists of about thirty members and fifteen helpers. Regular meetings are held on the first and third Friday of each month at Glebe House.
Club activities include:

Quizzes

Arts and crafts (cake decorating is always a favourite)

Visits from guest speakers (these have included the St John Ambulance,
the Fire Brigade and the RSPCA) -
Guest entertainers

Disco dancing
We also have `free evenings' where the members choose among:

Board games

Puzzles
-
Watching videos
-
Outdoor – rounders and cricket (weather permitting)
The Club has a canteen to provide refreshments.
At Christmas we visit Hanover Court for a carol singing evening, and we always have a Christmas Party. Some members have formed a bell ringing group, and they are kept very busy around that time of year performing in the Loughborough district.We have also attended local shows and pantomimes. New helpers are always welcome.
